I write mostly poetry with a bit of prose and script writing.

I was a secondary school History and English teacher for years. Then I moved into university and community work as a teacher of Creative Writing; and I still do writing workshops in schools with both kids and teachers. You say if you could put it in words
there’d be no need to paint.
You say you just want to catch the moment,
have no need of narrative, but your paintings
leave no way out except to invent the story:
however good your painting, I still need words.

I have recently returned from a month long Artists
Residency in Iceland where I was working collaboratively with Visual Artist
Pat Hodson and Sound Artist Jessica Rowland. An exhibition of our latest
collaborative work begins in Sheffield on 23rd October.
